Goalkeeping prospects receive online training from Brad Friedel

Under-18 goalkeepers, Kacper Kurylowicz, Thimothee Lo-Tutala and Isak Solberg, are among six youth prospects who have enjoyed online training sessions in recent weeks.

Former Spurs players Brad Friedel and Oscar Jansson, as well as Development squad keeper Brandon Austin, have led the sessions for the youngsters.

The stoppers gave them some valuable insight into the mentality required to reach the top of their game and passed on some useful practical tips for them to work on while they remain at home during this period of unprecedented social shutdown.

The online video classes were introduced by Academy Coach, Perry Suckling, as an additional means for our young keepers to further their development, alongside the daily coaching and exercise programmes the Club is providing for our Academy players to work on while in isolation.

‘The Rebuild’ with Alasdair Gold

It was an absolute pleasure to join host Ricky Sacks and Football London correspondent, Alasdair Gold, to talk all things Tottenham Hotspur!

We reflected on Spurs returning back to winning ways against Red Star Belgrade while looking back on the club’s start to the season to try and determine where things have gone wrong.

We also discussed Mauricio Pochettino’s current re-build along what his plans could be for January, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

We also took a look at the NFL game which recently took place at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, along with the possible stadium naming rights that may come in the future.

We finish by talking about how our youth team shone against Red Star Belgrade in a 9-2 thumping from Ryan Mason’s men which saw Troy Parrott grab four goals.

Walkes to make loan move permanent?

Lilywhite Rose can reveal that Anton Walkes’ loan move to Portsmouth is likely to be made permanent this summer, with all parties keen to do a deal.

The 21 year old right back has been at Pompey since January and has made a positive impact at the League One club, making 12 appearances and scoring a single goal.

The Portsmouth boss, Kenny Jackett (who worked with Harry Kane at Millwall), is thought to hold Walkes in high regard from his time working with our development squad last year.

Walkes, who can also play at centre-back or in midfield, is under contract until 2019 but it is not thought that Spurs will stand in the way of the player who is said to be keen on the move.

He would join another ex-Spurs youth goalkeeper, Luke McGee who joined Portsmouth in 2017 and has since made 50 appearances for the club.

Walkes had a stint in the MLS last year, turning out for Atlanta United 20 times and chipping in with 2 goals.

He has made just one senior appearance for Spurs, playing in the EFL Cup against Gillingham in 2016.

Walkes would be the third Spurs youth player to leave the set up in recent times, with Reo Griffiths also linked with a move away. However, with players like Oliver Skipp and Tashan Oakley-Booth expected to make the step up to the first team in the coming seasons, the Spurs youth set up will remain strong.

The Tottenham youngsters set to leave this June?

The end of the season is approaching and, inevitably, this will prove to be the last few months at Hotspur Way for some of the clubs younger players.

Since the start of the season, several young pros have already left the club permanently. Goalkeeper, Harry Voss joined Bishops Stortford, academy Centreback Joy Mukena joined fellow premier league side Watford and young forward, Aramide Oteh has completed a move to QPR. Which other young players could leave Tottenham this summer?

Northern Ireland u19 International, Charlie Owens has been training and playing for QPR’s U23 side after being told his contract will not be renewed at Spurs. Should he sign a permanent deal with the Loftus Road side, he would link up again with Oteh and Chris Paul who left spurs two years ago.

Zenon Stylianides like Owens is another player who has been told he will not be offered a new deal at spurs once his contract expires in June.

Having impressed in the U18’s young full back, Joe Muscatt had been expected to perform for the level above but has found game time hard to come by competing with Kyle Walker-Peters for the right back slot. As such, he is surplus to requirements at Hotspur Way and will leave on 30 June 2017.

The futures of Thomas McDermott, Cy Goddard, Filip Lesniak, Christian Maghoma and Joe Pritchard remain unclear at this time but I would be very surprised to see any of them at Hotspur Way come 1 July.
